This very interesting study done on otherwise healthy college hockey players, addressed the issue of young athletes who are suffering from exercise- induced asthma secondary to exposure to engine exhaust from Zambonis (ice-rink cleaning vehicles). A higher than expected rate of asthma is seen in indoor hockey players than in age-matched athletes performing other sports.
