Background & aims Preservation of lean body mass is an important cancer care objective. The capacity for prehabilitation interventions to modulate the lean body mass (LBM) of colorectal cancer patients before and after surgery is unknown.
Loss of muscle mass is always a serious consequence of cancer and cancer treatment. In a joint study between the University of Calgary and McGill University (both in Canada), a pooled analysis of two separate prehabilitation trials on colon cancer patients was performed.
